'Cause I remember everything The air I breathe, the blood I bleed Do you remember all the things I've Said to you? Hope you remember everything I swear on my heart, it's all true Chorus: Gone You're gone The day I prayed I'd never see Gone You're gone And you've left a void in my body Verse 2: Should I even bother hoping For someone? 'Cause you're the only puzzle piece That fits into me, brings me undone Will you ever think of me when You're alone I hope you will, but you don't care As much for me, I should've known Repeat chorus Verse 3: I envisioned all the things that We would be Guess you didn't think of us With all of the light that I see And I was happy despite the roads we'd Travelled through 'Cause in the end it was worth it Aristophanes, worth it for you Repeat chorus Repeat verse 1 Click "read more" for more about the process behind making this song!

Wondering if that feeling has been here for long 'Cause I thought if anyone could do it, it would be us And I thought that there wasn't anything we couldn't discuss Lightning strike that came out of nowhere And you've won this damn sneak attack It's been more than a year since I've cried this much Chorus: Sorry that I wasn't enough for you to stay Sorry that it wasn't worth your time Sorry that you still left at the end of the day Sorry that it wasn't worth being mine Verse 2: Can I breathe? With you gone, my chest feels so tight No reprieve Thoughts of you permeate my mind 'Cause everything is entrenched in memories of us And everything indicated a hard-to-find trust Only thing I want is for you to hold me And tell me that it'll all be okay But that's the only thing that I just can't have Repeat chorus Bridge: I think you know All the things I'd do for you 'Cause I know There's no replicating what's between us two I hope you know All the lengths I'd go for you But I know It's something that you won't push through Repeat chorus Click "Read More" for more about the process behind making this song.

Bandcamp iTunes Spotify Amazon Google Play And available pretty much everywhere else "Lucky People" is the second cover I've done of a song by Waterparks, which is one of my very favorite bands. The first Waterparks song I covered was my "Sick Crave Cover." For this particular track, I learned and recorded song within a day or two (a couple days after the original song's release) the week before finals because I generally enjoy using music as a form of procrastination. The main instrument is, evidently, piano. The only other instruments are my Taylor GS Mini-E Koa acoustic guitar and an egg shaker I made using a plastic Easter egg and rice, though I used the guitar as a bass. My shaker skills have gotten significantly better since the previous Waterparks cover; I feel like playing an egg shaker should be incredibly easy, but it actually takes a bit of practice to be able to get the actual sound to fall on the beat. For the album art, I used a photograph of Christmas ornaments from an excellent stock photo website I know of. I chose this particular picture because I knew it would look good when cropped to a 1:1 (i.e. square) ratio, and it has some purple in the background. The purple is significant because it matches the aesthetic of Entertainment, the Waterparks album that this song is from, the hair of Awsten Knight, the songwriter and lead singer of the band, and my egg shaker. I did the hand-lettering myself in Photoshop. In addition, I knew I wanted to get a snow falling overlay for the YouTube video. It took me several days to figure out how to accomplish this using Lightworks, the video editing software I generally utilize, but after scouring the internet, I eventually got it. To be frank, I think I might've spent more time on that than recording the music itself. Overall, I am fairly proud of this cover. There are definitely some intonation issues with the vocals and some timing errors with the guitar, but as a whole, I had a lot of fun creating this. My primary complaint is that some of the lyrics are wrong, but that's because I used an inaccurate source when learning/recording the song and didn't realize until after the fact. |
